What is Functional Kinesiology?

Over the past 10 years Balanced Wellness has become synonymous with an effective and cutting edge approach to the chronic conditions affecting society today.

This approach led us to creating a series of protocols based on pulling together the tried and tested techniques from different kinesiology training pathways combined with the latest research in nutritional science and functional medicine. We call this new approach Functional Kinesiology.

These protocols ensure that you learn how to deal with a variety of conditions with a simple, easy approach that allows you to build confidence in your clinical practice.

The protocols work synergistically together, building into a truly unique way of working with the body and not simply focussing on finding the relevant kinesiology techniques for specific symptoms.

The protocols are taught over eight modules. Each module is split between  workshop attendance once a month and online home based study via podcasts and downloadable resources so you can view the demonstrations as often as you wish creating a flexible study programme.

The workshops are interesting and practical allowing the workshop attendee to be  confident to apply the learning immediately. All attendees are offered email and telephone support after the workshops and access to a closed facebook group for community support.

Each weekend will offer some home study and an opportunity to submit case studies to ensure you have grasped the learning to further your confidence. In line with the National Occupational Standards there will also be a clinical assessment and examination at the end of the course.

Why is Functional Kinesiology different?

Functional Kinesiology is a brand new protocol based approach focusing on effective solutions to the current global health trends

At its core it uses the triangle of health, a concept based on simplifying the complex interplay between hormone systems that, when imbalanced are the root cause behind the major disorders currently affecting society.

Functional Kinesiology combines tried and tested techniques and methodologies from a variety of sources with Applied Kinesiology as its foundation alongside Touch For Health, combined with cutting edge nutritional science and emotional techniques ensuring that the root cause of conditions are treated biochemically, electrically, emotionally and structurally creating a contemporary and effective 360 approach to client care and empowerment.

These techniques are applied within the protocols using a four phase approach to working with clients which takes the guess work out for practitioners and avoiding overwhelm and confusion.

Touch For Health Comparison

Touch for Health is a foundation training course designed for the lay person. It was created by John Thie who believed anybody should have the option of learning this incredibly therapy.

At the heart of TFH is self responsibility where the person tested constantly feeds back on what they experience and they essentially lead the session. It is not a practitioner training, although it is a fantastic way to learn Kinesiology if you are thinking of training as a practitioner. The Touch for Health muscle test is a light touch.

Systematic Kinesiology Comparison

Also based on the principles in Applied Kinesiology, Systematic Kinesiology doesn’t use the TFH principles of energy rebalancing. All imbalances are treated as if they are energy “deficient” where FK and TFH work on carefully rebalancing.

For example in SK if an unlocking circuit was found to be priority the practitioner would add energy “In” by applying the “systematic” approach of rubbing neuro-lymphatics, holding Neuro-vasculars, running meridians and looking for “circuit specific” nutrition.

In Functional Kinesiology, as in Touch For Health we only add energy “in” to a circuit if it is under energised meaning we always look for where a circuit is conversely holding too much energy..  This process allows us to pinpoint root cause issues more effectively and correct effectively. Often the relationship between these imbalances highlights empowering information for the client about how their body is working.
